We installed the Deep Laser Engraving System X7 on a test line for marking safety valve tags and pipe IDs. The first month showed consistent results on stainless steel and carbon steel surfaces. The marks held up well against the high-pressure washdowns and chemical exposure typical in our refinery. Setup took about two days, mostly because we had to align the system with our existing batch processing workflow. The automated serialization feature saved us from manual data entry errors. One thing we noticed: the marking depth of 0.3 mm is sufficient for our needs, but we had to adjust the focus for curved valve bodies. Overall, the system performed as specified, and we are planning to expand its use to two more production lines.
